These things happen! and I’ve had this happen a couple of times in the past. Once when I was in Cuba I forgot to re-wind the film before opening the bottom of the camera, and the other in Dublin. These are some of the issues we deal with as film photographers. Screwing up our shots just as we finished shooting a roll, and more than likely loosing some good shots in the process.
But none of this bothers me. I like shooting film and I’ll deal with all the limitations it throws as me since I prefer the “look” of B&W film compared to just processing digital files to look B&W.
