Migrating From Soundcloud to TapeWrite

So as some of you may have seen, I’ve recently migrated my Travelogue and Audiolog casts to TapeWrite. Soundcloud is a great service and I think it’s done it’s part to help upcoming podcasters, musicians and documentary photographers tell their stories. I enjoyed using it. But I felt the service was lacking something specifically that I required. That was the ability to show slides, images, etc or how TapeWrite put’s it “Cards”. TW I follow a lot of podcasts online.

Travelogue: New York Shadow Puppets

New York City has some of the most unique light I have ever experienced in my travels. At times it feels like it’s been arranged perfectly for us Street & Social Documentary photographers. Combined with the density of the city and it’s endless supply of people. It’s hard not to stumble upon something interesting to photograph. Have a listen and feel free to comment. TW

It’s essentially Tri-X 400, but with it’s own unique contrast and highlight ratio. This leaves

At first maybe. Maybe you grab that lens and you feel comfortable with it. But at some point you’ll get bored and more than likely that lens never sparked anything in you. You might then go ahead and buy another

Assignment A Week #4 – Shoot Into the Light

This weeks assignment is all about shooting into the light. Go out for a walk, be it a whole day or just an hour for your lunch, and aim your lens in the direction of the sun. It’s a tricky exercise as you need to find that perfect balance between your highlights and shadows. Making sure you don’t clip or clamp either. I prefer to shoot in dense urban environments as the light reflects off the buildings, which tend to
