Recently I picked up a couple rolls of Arista Premium 400 from a local store. I was curious how it differed from Kodak T-Max 400 and Kodak Tri-X 400 and whether it was a suitable alternative as it was significantly cheaper than rolls of Kodak here in Canada. The verdict?? Not so great. The contrast of the film is pretty good but the latitude in the highlights don’t even come close to T-Max 400. Also the grain structure is quite prominent and distracting. 1 roll finished and 1 more roll to knock off and I won’t be using this film again.
Have you tried Arista Premium 400? What are your thoughts?
