The way the new Leica 35mm Summicron-M f/2 ASPH renders the out of focus areas, is incredible. I just love it. Even more so in the latest version of the lens which has eleven aperture blades versus the eight that were present in the last couple versions. The last ASPH version I never really enjoyed the bokeh. It was too harsh for my tastes. But the soft, swirly look of the new 35mm Summicron is something incredible.
I may decide to do another Opinion Review. Something I haven’t done since the Voigtlander Ultron 40mm f/1.4 I did years ago. Which for some reason still gets a lot of traffic. What do you think of the out of focus characteristics of the new 35mm Leica. Appealing? or distracting?
