I wanted to give an update as to where “The Leica Travelogues” are going. I also have been struggling with gear and the general quality of the episodes I’ve produced. The audio has sounded quiet, muffled and “amateur” in my opinion. The Blue Yeti, which I use, may be a good microphone for some applications but it just isn’t a good mic for me. I feel the tone of my voice gets muffled and my words lost at times. Maybe it’s just me that feels this way.
Regardless I’ve been looking at options. I picked up a M-Audio M-Track 2x2M MIDI interface and a Electro-Voice N/D967 Microphone. This setup isn’t final yet but something I’m trying out to see if the audio quality improves. I think it has. Have a listen and please feel free to leave me feedback as to whether the quality has improved. Or it’s just the same old same old.
