Travel Journal: Victoria

It’s odd being back in Victoria. Every time I return to the island I end up spending less and less time here. I grew up here, but find that not much has changed. Yes there are more condos and maybe more people living here but generally it hasn’t changed that much. Other trips to Victoria usually resulted in me taking quite a few photographs over the trip, but this time, that wasn’t the case. I felt like I needed to unplug, put aside the camera, and just vegetate. Decompress. Forget about everything. It kind of worked…

I spent three days in Victoria this time around and it was spent solely with my family. My wife and I puttered off one morning to go for a walk through James Bay and head down to the break water. The images you see in the post are all from that one two hour walk.

Generally it was a pretty enjoyable and restful time. My mom cooked amazing food, I fixed my dad’s computers and then we took off to Vancouver for a much needed couple days off before returning to the big city. More on that in another post.
